Samak rice/barnyard millet kheer
Samak rice kheer is usually made when one is fasting especially during Navaratris as it is a falahar food. Nevertheless, it can be made anytime, fasting or no fasting. Craving something sweet but watching your weight too!? then this recipe is for you, because it's sweet and healthy. Samak rice is not rice, but barnyard millet, a gluten-free, fiber-rich, high on essential minerals like iron and magnesium, and nutritious seed which makes it a great source of energy. They are similar to broken brown rice when cooked and can give your fill for rice cravings. All of this and more makes Samak rice kheer way much healthier than white rice kheer. Let's get to the recipe of it then. Note: 1) You can substitute sugar with honey but do not add it when the the kheer is hot instead add it when it's on room temperature or cooled down completely. 2) You can use Almond, oat or any other non-dairy, vegan milk as well instead of whole milk. 3) Can add saffron/kesar as well for color if not making it during falahar fasting. Hope you'll try this yummilicious recipe and if you do, let me know in the comment section how it turned out to be.

Makhana and badam kheer
Many people think it’s hard to have varieties when it comes to fasting food, especially during the time of Navaratri when you can only consume meals made with Potato, Sabudana, fruits, nuts, paneer, milk, yogurt & other dairy products except cheese, buckwheat flour, chestnut flour or any some of other millets, spices like rock salt, black pepper, cumin & dry coriander. Food items such as grains like wheat and rice are not eaten. However, a number of dishes can be made with available food items. In the context of Navaratri, I brought to you all a dessert to make on these auspicious nine days. Makhana (lotus seeds) and badam (almonds) kheer. It’s easy, less time consuming, tasty, and most importantly, sweet! hehe… Craving for it? Then let’s get started with the recipe.

Mango Twister
What comes to your mind when you think of summers? Sun! Humidity! Beaches! Summer body!? Well, the first thing which comes to my mind, when thinking about summers is ‘Mango’. Red, green and Yellow; sweet and sour; raw and ripe; different forms and these are just textures and tastes. If we talk about the variety that mango contains, it’s a long list. I can name some for you: Carabao from Philippines (world’s best mango), Alphonso from India (India’s best mango), Graham from Trinidad, Haden from Mexico, Francis from Haiti and Keitt from United States, the list goes on. I got a Mocktail related to mangoes, which I recently invented. An original. “Mango Twister”. Let’s talk about it.
